Nvidia shares kept rising recently, helped by the company’s growing focus on robotics. Nvidia and South Korea’s LG Group have agreed to work together to develop a humanoid robot.
The stock went up 0.4% in premarket trading, building on an 11% gain over the last month.
LG plans to introduce a new bipedal humanoid robot in early 2027. This robot will use Nvidia’s Isaac GR00T foundation model and Jetson Thor computing platform, according to a joint statement from the companies. They are also working together on wheel-based robots and a high-performance computing platform for vehicles.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the main opportunity in physical AI is to help machines understand the real world, make decisions, and work safely with people. He said this change could reshape daily life, from homes and factories to roads.
While the vast majority of Nvidia’s revenue still comes from AI chips for data centers, the company sees robotics as a major growth area. Nvidia also recently announced a partnership with the Chinese startup Unitree to accelerate humanoid robot development. Huang called the humanoid robotics market a multitrillion-dollar opportunity. RBC has projected that roughly 350 million robots could be sold annually by 2050 at an estimated price of $25,000 each, implying a market worth up to $9 trillion.
