What is equity trading?

Equity trading, or stock trading, generally involves purchasing shares of a publicly-traded company with the expectation that their value will appreciate and create a capital gain and/or they will generate a cash dividend.

US stock transactions initiated through Capital Markets Elite Group are typically conducted via an electronic exchange, like ARCA or NSDQ or using a floor broker on the NYSE.

There are many strategies that can be used when trading equities including day trading for cashflow, swing trading for event or news driven trades, and buy and hold trading and investing. Traders can also benefit from utilizing multiple time frames to maximize profits.

ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) allow a trader to have exposure to a pool of investments which aren’t actively managed and are bought and sold together like a stock on an exchange. Many ETFs are designed to track a specific index or industry and can include stocks, bonds, options, commodities or real estate.

Benefits:
  • Capital investment — small deposit required to start trading
  • Leverage — use up to six times leverage to increase your gains, although leverage also increases losses if incurred
  • Dividends — earn income from dividends by investing in your favorite company
